I teach basic courses on the biology of fishes (WFC 120, 120L) and wildlife
conservation for nonmajors (WFC 10). I have
co-authored (with J. J. Cech) a widely used ichthyology
text (5th edition 2004). I also co-teach each year an ecogeomorphology
course (Geology 135)
with Jeff Mount of Geology. This course has a summer field component,
usually involving studying fish and watershed processes while rafting down
a wild river (see Website).
I sponsor seminars through the Graduate Group in Ecology, in which I am an
advisor in the Conservation Ecology Area of Emphasis. I also assist
occasionally in courses in the Nature and Culture Program.
