Leslie Ecology Release Notes.

Leslie Ecology is an expanded version of Leslie. The inputs and controls for the random matrix elements may be found by scrolling the main window down. The sensitivity and elasticity graphs are on the new second window.

To change the sensitivity and elasticity graphs, use the "handles" in the La and Ma graph. Please note the lambda for these graphs is not necessarily the lambda shown in the main window.

Updates of some of the graphs may be slow. They are just OK on Quadra class machines. This could be optimized given more time to work on the program.

Please e-mail me with any comments or suggestions. My instructions for the program are essentially "do what comes naturally". If that doesn't work for you, I WANT to know how to fix the program so it does!

Leslie Release Notes.

The Leslie program was designed to explore the use of the Leslie Matrix in population biology. It may be used stand-alone or with the Leslie Course in introductory and graduate population biology and resource management courses.

The Leslie Course is a CourseBuilder built program that works with the Leslie program--both must be run at the same time. This course was targeted at a graduate ecology course but is not complete enough to present much of a challenge to the students.

Please check out the help system in the Leslie program. It is not complete with respect to how the program works but the essentials for how to work the program are there.
