Welcome New WFCB Students!

Congratulations on your admission to UC Davis and welcome to the Department of Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology, the #1 ranked Fisheries and Wildlife program in the country!

As a WFCB major, you will enjoy hands-on coursework and dynamic interactions with dedicated faculty. Students select one of four areas of specialization: Wildlife and Conservation Biology, Fish Biology, Wildlife Health, or an individualized plan tailored to your specific study focus, such as Marine Conservation Science or Animal Behavior.

If you have not yet completed Aggie 101, we encourage you to do so before meeting with an advisor. You can access Aggie 101 here: https://aggie101.ucdavis.edu/ . Once you have completed this first step of your required orientation, you’ll be ready to apply the information on this web page to start planning your first quarter in our program.

Our Major Checklists are a great place to start familiarizing yourself with the major course requirements and also an opportunity to explore the area of specialization that best fits your personal interests. Then, under the “Advising” tab, learn how to make an appointment with a WFCB major or peer advisor to start your academic plan. Finally, “Careers & Internships” will help you start thinking ahead about the many possibilities for research, professional development, and other valuable opportunities for learning outside of the classroom.

The WFCB Advising team is excited to welcome you to our community and help you get started on your academic plan! To learn how to contact us, click “Advising” below.
